Rewind 10 years ago, he was home from bootcamp and a mutual friend's family had a gathering at their home. I was sitting outside talking with friends. He walked outside with two plates of food, handed me one and sat down next to me. We looked at each other and our hearts just clicked. As everyone else partied around us, we stayed sitting next to each other talking the night away.
"Things don't always go as planned" - That's what can be said for our proposal. But in the end, it was as sweet as true love can be. He made reservations at The Cellar in downtown Fullerton to celebrate our anniversary. During dinner he said he had bought me a gift but it got lost in the mail. I didn't think one thing about it and said, "That's ok, having dinner here together is the best gift of all". Well, little did I know the gift that got lost in the mail was actually my engagement ring he was planning to give to me to ask me to marry him! Fast forward a week later, I was at home in my pajamas studying on the couch. He called and said he would be home soon but was going to make a quick stop to get his oil changed. Not one second did I think that was odd. An hour later, he walked through the door with a dozen red roses. I jumped off the couch thinking this is such a sweet surprise. He told me to go grab a vase and when I turned back around he was down on one knee with the ring. I knelt down with him, hugged him while crying tears of joy, and said "YES"!
