Juliana: The story goes almost like a love story, and without doubt devine intervention lead Raymundo and Juliana to meet. Back in 2021 Raymundo and Juliana were both living in Green Bay, WI. Juliana was attending nursing school and studying spanish so she could help translate for the spanish speaking patients she worked with. For real world exposure, in the beginning of her studies Juliana would often buy conchas (traditional mexican bread) at the local panadería (bakery) that was just a few minutes from her appartment. Simotaneously Juliana was attending her public health clinicals at the N.E.W community clinic, where she helped immigrant families access health care, and also where she helped translate spanish at the vaccine clinics each week, including her regular vaccine clinic shift on april 29th 2021. Raymundo: Raymundo, who was living just a few blocks away, was working at the public health office as a sanatarian. This same office location provided the N.E.W community clinic with nurses for their pandemic-driven vaccine clinic. The public health office had posted that they need spanish speakers for the vaccine events, and Raymundo, with his great caring skills and spanish being his native language, signed up for the event on April 29th 2021. The First Encounter: It was about 07:30 on the monring of April 29th and the sun was shinning with a feeling of spring coming soon. Juliana was packing her lunch for the long vaccine clinic shift, and she grabbed her bag of conchas from her visit to the panadería that week. She always packed one, but on this particular day she grabbed two, knowing she tends to be very hungry while working. Raymundo was getting ready simoteneously and they both took the same commute to the clinic, as the two lived about 2 minutes away from each other. It was about 07:50 now, and Juliana was at the comupter getting ready for the vaccine day and collecting all the necessary information. Raymundo had walked in at this time and walked right passed Juliana. Juliana had stopped typing as she had never seen a man tan hermoso before, and at first she thought maybe she had known this man, but couldnt tell from where. Raymundo unloaded his belonings as he purposly ignored the beautful girl he had seen. Immediatly, he walked to the other side of the room. Juliana pretented to be focused on the computer but was secretly spying over the top of the screen at the hansom man in the room. Immediatly, Juliana prayed that her spanish would be perfect to impress this fine looking mexican man. Raymundo shakily walked up to the women and put on his best smile. "Hi I'm Ray, the translator for today" he sad as he placed his hand out. "Hi im Juliana," she second guessed herself, "wait that is my name right?" thought Juliana. A moment of silence remained, as the two shook each others hands. They didn’t know it at the time, but later these would be the same two hands that both held a concha to snack on, that held tightly on walks through Atlanta, and the same hands that held ever so tightly, under the hot mexican sun where Raymundo asked "Will you be my wife." So what is the importance of the concha? That second concha was Juliana's little gift to Raymundo that day, and later to learn that concha, along with the others Juliana bought weekly, came from the very panadería that Raymundo's uncle owned. The second concha that Juliana packed seemed insignificant at the time, but the lunch break Raymundo and Juliana shared together eating conchas was what started the love that they share today.
Raymundo and Juliana got engaged in Tequila, Jalisco. Mexico on 05/8/2023. With a dusty brown dessert terrain and a mountain line that glows bright green with agave plants. Tequila Mexico is the origin of Tequila according to traditional mexican stories. Although the true story behind the drink will never truly be understood, a new story was made this past year that will forever be in our hearts. It was at this place, that Raymundo had asked for Juliana's hand in marriage, continued by a celebration at the Cantaritos el Guero, a famous tequila restaurant. The entire sanchez family gathered in dance and singing to mariachi as they shouted "Bienvenidos a la familia"
