Joey and I met in high school when Joey transferred to St. Dominic half way through sophomore year. All throughout high school we knew each other from being in the same friend group, but were never super close!
Joey and I hadn't talked since high school, but our mutual friend, Courtney, was still good friends with both of us! One day her and I were hanging out when she told me she had plans to go biking with Joey later that day and invited me along. I convinced Joey that he and I should do a half Ironman in Arizona later that year. He thought I was totally bluffing, until I texted him 3 days later telling him I was registered.
All throughout that summer and into the fall, Joey and I trained together for the race. This meant we were hanging out basically every day, so we got to know each other pretty well!
It took me forever to say yes to being Joey's girlfriend. He asked me out somewhere in the ballpark of 40 times, before finally just telling people we were dating. (It obviously proved to be a winning strategy!)
Over the summer, Joey got a job offer to work at a financial firm in Manhattan. (Scheduled move is January!) We wanted to get married before the move, so we decided to plan a wedding in 3 months and make it happen!
