Courteney and Raymond met on a Summer Night in 2010 through mutual friends and instantly a connection was formed and a friendship soon blossomed. Raymond planned an afternoon lunch at Firebirds for their first date and anything that could go wrong simply did! It was awkward to say the least, but the once blossoming friendship ignited a spark the two just could not deny. This love story has been an adventure from the start. As all love stories are told there is a push and pull effect and after their first date they decided to just be friends. So as time always does it moved past them and they watched from afar as each, individually, achieved milestones and separately created memories yet cheered each other on from the sidelines secretly self titling themselves the other’s biggest and #1 fan. Seven years later, in the middle of a pandemic, they decided it was time to move the cheering section from the sidelines and enter back into the game. Though the intention was only to reconnect as friends they sat and talked for hours about everything under the sun and again that spark was felt, that flame was ignited, and they both instantly felt that connection rekindled. Ever since that fateful day in August, almost every day has been spent together filled with laughter, teamwork, and most importantly love. Their love for music, traveling, and spending time with family is the highlight of their life. On October 3, 2021 at Tonic Seafood and Steak Restaurant, in front of family and friends Raymond proposed to Courteney, secretly mic’d, in what can only be described as the most beautiful proposal EVER! The day unwittingly would be a celebration of a milestone for both of them. What was meant to celebrate Courteney’s accomplishment in achieving her masters degree, was filled with nervous energy in both parties for two completely different reasons. Raymond was so nervous and it showed, yet Courteney still didn't have a clue about anything that was soon to come. With the help of Courteney’s village, the day was a success and a smooth transition from celebrating her accomplishment to their engagement. Now a decade later since their story began being written, the two souls once far will be connected as one, no longer cheering from the sidelines yet standing side by side cheering together. On March 3rd, 2023 at 5:00 pm in the heart of Grace Church Raymond Banks and Courteney Dixon will be married.
