With the health and safety of our guests in mind, we made the difficult decision to downsize our wedding to immediate family and wedding parties only. We did this in hopes that we can host a more intimate event that puts our guest's safety first. We ask that in the time leading up to the wedding, everyone please make their best efforts to carefully follow social distance measures. We cannot wait to see you! Please reach out if you have any questions!
Carla was teaching at St. Georges with Kevin & Brian. One day, Kevin approached Carla with an instagram picture of a group of guys asking “you think that guy’s cute?”,. She did. He then asked if he could give the guy her number and she agreed. Carla and Ray’s first date was at Tyler’s in Pike Creek. They hit it off right from the beginning with talks about travel and all of the nerdy interests they had in common :) With a little help from Brian, the two love birds hung out quite often in Trolley & fell in love. After just a few months of dating, Carla accepted a job in Washington D.C. and the couple decided to give long distance a try! They took turns traveling to see each other each weekend (shout-out to the most understanding roommate Danny!) and had an incredible year filled with concerts, football games, golf outings, zoo trips, and so much love. At the end of the year when Carla’s lease was up, they decided to move in together in Delaware :)
On the last evening of an incredible vacation Ray finally popped the question. At the recommendation of a friend, Ray & Carla got tickets to a Musical Night event on the rooftop of Barcelona’s famous Casa Batlló. They spent a perfect evening dancing to a flamenco cover band and drinking champagne. After the event ended, Carla and Ray were some of the last people on the roof. Before leaving, Ray suggested they get a selfie with the incredible facade behind them. They took a nice picture, and then Carla continued to make wacky faces completely unknowing that Ray was pulling a ring out of his pocket. He asked for a kissy-selfie and as they took the picture, Ray slid the ring on Carla’s finger, told her how happy she makes him, and asked her to marry him. After first questioning “is this real” several times, Carla responded “of course”.
