May 9, 2025 Reformation Bible College Sanford, Florida Graduation Night Both Alex and Rayisa were excited to finish their time at RBC yet uncertain of what God had in store for them and their plans. For Alex, that was moving home to North Carolina for work and family, with the intention of pursuing ministry and seminary. For Rayisa, that was remaining in Florida and pursuing a career at Ligonier Ministries. In their entire duration at RBC, Alex and Rayisa never crossed paths, which is hard to accomplish at a tiny college of 200 students. They would’ve walked away on their separate paths that night, never knowing the other person even existed, but the Lord had a plan and the RBC love magic had yet to fail. Due to their last names, Alex and Rayisa were seated next to each other at graduation and even walked down the aisle as a pair (subtle foreshadowing on God’s part). In her nervous energy during rehearsal, Rayisa complimented Alex’s band t-shirt and Alex knew then that she was the one. So, naturally, he didn’t talk to her for the remainder of the night, communicating only through side glances and a sweaty forehead. Like a true modern romantic, Alex requested to follow Rayisa on Instagram the next day and wasted no time in messaging her. After thinking through it for a while, Rayisa responded and the rest is history. Hundreds of hours of phone calls, a 14-hour long first date, 7 months of long distance, a marriage proposal in a church cemetery 4 months in (ask them for the full story), and a mutual passion for the Lord, His Word, and His people brought the both of them to this point. We are grateful for all of you who played a part in our story, whether through direct support, encouragement, prayer, counsel, or shaping our personal stories before God brought us into each other's lives. We look forward to your witness as we covenant with one another for this lifetime and we pray that you’ll join us in our desire to glorify God above all else.
