Dry Falls
Despite its ironic name, this majestic waterfall is located in the Culasaja River Gorge about 4 miles from town. The hike to the waterfall takes about 10 minutes along a concrete path and dozens of steps.
Bridal Veil Falls
A 45-foot waterfall located in the Nantahala National Forest, northwest of the Highlands. It is the only waterfall in the state that one can drive a vehicle under.
Glen Falls
Beautiful hiking trail located about 3 miles outside of town. This mountain getaway is the perfect time to go chasing waterfalls!
Sunset Rock
One of the most popular hiking trails in the Highlands a little over an hour outside of town. The spot gets its name from the rocky outcropping overlooking the town to the east, offering a perfect spot to watch the sunset over town.
