Believe it or not, we met on the very first day in our very first class of freshman year in college. It was a drawing and painting class required by our architecture program. I'm sure you can imagine the number of super artsy kids from Western Massachusetts in that classroom. I so vividly remember Ray walking in his gym shorts and sneakers and thinking, 'thank god - someone normal'. Whatever normal means! Turns out we also lived in the same dorm and we have been friends ever since!
We were friends through all four years in college before we started dating. I mean - we did spend a summer in Copenhagen together (as friends, we swear). Ray says he always knew but Steph liked to turn a blind eye. For instance, you must ride a bike to get absolutely anywhere in Denmark, in all types of weather and on every type of road. Steph wasn't so comfortable on the bike, especially on the cobblestone and busy roads. Ray would stay in the back on EVERY RIDE to make sure the group didn't leave her behind. TRUE LOVE (still only friends). A few months later, we took a road trip down to Nashville to see Jack White. We don't know if it was the 30+ hours in the car together or what, but by the time we got home there was no turning back and we were officially a couple ever since. After living in an apartment in South Norwalk for almost 6 years, Ray finally proposed, on a beach, on the North Fork of Long Island and it was perfect. So here we are, getting married! We can't wait to celebrate with each and every one of you!
