FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by July 25th, 2021. If you are looking to book a room in the hotel block at the Hyatt Regency, the cutoff date is August 3rd.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The Welcome Night event will include Mehndi and begins in the Vu Restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Hyatt Regency hotel at 6 PM on September 4th. The Baraat which is the groom's processional begins at the entrance to the hotel and continues onto the pier at 10AM on September 5th. The ceremony, which will be a traditional Hindu ceremony, will follow at 1030AM. Weather permitting this will be on the Riverside Terrace attached to the back of the hotel on the public pier. If the Rain god comes to join the festivities (teehee), then we will move the ceremony indoors to the Manhattan Ballroom. This will be followed by a Cocktail Hour and the Reception to immediately follow in the Hudson Ballroom beginning at 1:30PM.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

While we will be dressed in some traditional Indian clothes, please feel free to come in attire that you feel comfortable in! Dressy casual or semi-formal is the dress code for both days.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there is parking at the hotel (Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson) as well as several other parking garages in the vicinity.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

When you RSVP to the events, you will see options for the number of guests you can bring. Unfortunately, due to social distancing restrictions from the Covid-19 pandemic, we are limited in the number of guests. The recommendations keep changing so things may be different by the actual wedding date, but for now we are doing our best to keep our loved ones safe and still include all of you in this momentous occasion.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

No we are not. We just want to enjoy this moment with all of our friends and family and want you to join in the party and celebration. Your presence is your present!
