Monte Albán is the ancient Zapotec capital perched on a mountaintop about 30 minutes from Oaxaca City, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The ruins are expansive, and the views from the top stretch across the entire valley. Can access by driving, taking a taxi, or joining a guided tour. Plan to set aside 2-3 hours to fully explore the site.
