Shelby's perspective-I had never seen him at our school, but I sat across the aisle from him on the bus to camp. I was sitting next to my best friend so naturally I totally ignored the boy across the aisle for the whole 12 hour drive. I was not interested in finding a boy at camp, but when Preston's counselor told me there was a boy in his cabin (Pres) who thought I was cute, I liked the idea of a "Camp Crush/Boyfriend". We danced together on the country dancing night, and of course did every activity together. When we got home from camp, I started to realize that he was as nice as he was at camp ALL THE TIME. So naturally, as the "bad boy" liking girl I was, I told him he was TOO nice for me. Two years later, after consistently pursuing the Lord and getting involved in the church, I thought of Preston. I texted him to tell him that I prayed for him and his family at our small group. After the totally expected "who is this" reply text, the rest was history. As the Lord broke my heart and mended it back together in those two years, he carved a big place for Preston and his niceness. I learned that I deserve to be treated kindly, and it's not weird!! Preston's kindness is actually my favorite thing about him, I love that he is SO NICE!
