After Jess changed schools for high school and Jack came back to the states for school, they ended up crossing paths at Patrick Henry High School in their freshman year in French class. After barely knowing each other, they were blessed to be seated next to each other in sophomore year for algebra class. One paid more attention in class than the other, but their friendship grew throughout the year. Despite both getting close and liking each other at the same time, they went their different ways for the remaining years of high school. Their paths crossed again in October 2021, rekindling over long distance. While Jack was at VMI and Jess was at Anderson University, they kept in touch for seven months before they started dating. They both continued their relationship over long distance throughout undergraduate school, and for two years after. On July 27, 2024, Jack decided to ask Jess to marry him, which began to solidify their forever commitment. While long distance is never easy (and they are honestly tired of it), their hearts have grown fond of each other, strengthened their relationship, and continued to put God in the center. To make the most of time together in person, they enjoy spending their time outdoors, specifically in the mountains.
