How We Met

First comes high school...then comes...marriage?

Eleven years ago, two best friends found love and sealed it with a kiss! We have been loving each other since we were 17 years old (yes, high school sweethearts still exist)! We started dating December 22, 2009 and have been together ever since! We are huge fans of love stories but ours is our favorite!

How did he do it you ask?

With a little help from...ME!

I was planning a birthday party for Rashid with all of our family and friends. Little did I know that he was going to use this party to pop the question! He took advantage that everyone we love was there to witness this special day! After 9 years full of fun, laughs, friendship, support, growth, and love, I turned around to see Rashid down on one knee ready to propose and of course I said YES! The eruption of joy could be heard a mile away!

Of all days, why June 12th?

It’s Loving Day!

It's a day that celebrates interracial marriage and frankly, love of all kinds because 53 years ago history was made! Loving Day is celebrated on June 12 and commemorates the landmark Supreme Court decision Loving v. Virginia that legalized interracial marriage nationwide. Because of Mildred and Richard Loving proving to the world that love is always worth fighting for, Rashid and I are able to celebrate our special day with all of you! “When you are dealing with humanity as a family there's no question of integration or intermarriage. It's just one human being marrying another human being or one human being living around and with another human being.” - Malcolm X

For all the days along the way
