Our first date was supposed to be at a bar that just opened up in Long Beach. Turns out, the bar was closed during the holiday week (between Christmas and New Years) and Nathan had to find a place quickly as I was already en route. I was annoyed that he hadn't looked it up sooner, but I enjoyed our conversations thus far and wanted to know more about him. When I arrived at "The Stave" in downtown Long Beach, I instantly saw him and breathed a sigh of happiness and relief and whispered to myself "oh, he's cute!". We sat down and had a couple cocktails, and talked for a few hours and it was amazing! There were many strangely odd questions (asked by Nate) about credit score and goals in life, but I welcomed the intensity, because it was mixed with Nate's great comedic timing. Time flew, and the conversation, (and drinks were flowing), and I must have passed Nate's "test". After passing the test, he THEN asked to continue the date by having dinner nearby. After that first date, we have been inseparable.....and the rest is history. And The Stave is our favorite bar, so if ever you come to visit, we will probably take you there.....
