Who knew you could find true love on a dating app? Their love story begins with Carina messaging Ryan with a response to a prompt, telling him her 69 year old mother also loved Pineapple Express. After chatting back and forth on Bumble for a few days, Ryan took Carina to the dirtiest dive bar he could think of, per her request, Filthy McNasty’s. After that night, they both were drawn to each other, and by their third date, which was four days after meeting, they fell in love with each other. Just over a week of dating, Ryan and Carina spent Cinco de Mayo together, cooking and dancing in the kitchen. This was the night the couple first exchanged “I love you”. From there, it was full steam ahead. Ryan and Carina became a blended family — Ryan bringing to the table his dogs Theo and Benji, and Carina bringing to the table her dog Shadow. Their boys quickly became acquainted and then became inseparable brothers. Over the past few years, Ryan and Carina have gone on various adventures together, loving every minute spent with each other. They have seen each other at some of their highest times, and at their lowest. They choose to love each other every day, no matter what life throws at them, and remain a strong team. Ryan decided to take their relationship to the next level on Christmas Eve 2024. He led the con of there being a family photo shoot on the beach. A beautiful spot near the Heceta Lighthouse, under the bridge on the beach. Once it was their turn for pictures, after a few pictures in Ryan got down on one knee and asked Carina to marry him. Carina, in complete shock, said “yes”! Ryan’s whole family was in on the proposal, and she was immediately showered with love from her soon-to-be in-laws. Ryan knew that after the loss of both of her parents, this would be the nearest to perfect way to propose, and it was indeed. With a new job in the new year and no foreseeable vacation time in sight, the two decided to elope on February 15, 2025. Surrounded by their immediate family and some of their closest friends, they became husband and wife in an intimate ceremony held at their home. Despite having the perfect day, they agreed that they didn’t want to withhold from having a larger wedding, with all of their favorite people in attendance. The date was set, March 28, 2026. To their pleasant surprise, they discovered Carina was pregnant just days after Ryan’s 30th birthday. The best birthday gift she could have given him.
