From the beginning, it felt like we'd known each other forever, like our souls recognized each other long before our eyes did. There were so many little signs, nudges, and moments that proved the universe had finally decided it was time to bring us together. We first met at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, thanks to a series of schedule changes that almost prevented us both from being there. But somehow we were. He noticed her first, the woman in the orange blouse, while trying to focus on recording a presentation for his friend Tex. Moments later she became the volunteer for his pull up practical. He was impressed, she was intrigued, and we both felt that spark that neither of us expected. We didn't act on it, so the universe tried again. Later that day while returning gym equipment, she pulled up in her Tacoma and we ended up having a 7 minute conversation that dropped straight into depth, connection, and that unmistakeable pull toward each other. We shook hands, walked away, but neither of us forgot. And then, the video. A friend sent him the clip of our pull up demo, he posted it and found her and tagged her, and she slid into his DMs-- a historic moment we will forever celebrate. From that point on the conversations became magic. Four hour calls, laughing until sunrise, feeling both brand new and anciently familiar. It already felt like home. He flew back to El Paso the weekend after her birthday and the spark became a full blown chemical explosion. That weekend he asked her to be his girlfriend. We fell deeply, powerfully in love, the kind that feels aligned at the soul. And since then our love has only expanded. Across airports, time zones, training centers, military bases, long work trips, and the beautiful chaos of life... we always choose each other. We compliment each other perfectly. He makes her more mobile, she gets him running and building his work capacity. Together we make each other better. Our hearts know exactly where they belong. Our visions match. Our souls are tethered. And now we get to build the best of our lives... hand in hand, stride for stride, aligned in every way that matters.
