We apologize for getting our invitations out late, we had an issue with their printing. It's a little hard to find the link to our registries on this website, so if you click on the "Registries" tab and then "Other Registries" at the top you should be able to see a link to our registries at Target and Amazon.
I moved into the Provo 172nd ward, bummed because all my friends had left for missions and study abroads. I was going to class and working at the MTC. Our stake was putting on a softball tournament and our ward's odds were actually pretty good because we had a (retired) minor league baseball player coaching our ward team. (Side note: His name is Angel and so our team name was "Angels in the Outfield," hence the title.) We quickly decided to get really hard-core about the whole thing, we had practices twice a week. I started going because my roommate went, even though I really have no particular talent when it comes to softball. I mostly just know how to run and that's it. That's where I met Jaron. We formed a big friend group out of the softball team, and spent most of our summer nights playing catch, soccer, or basketball and making midnight runs to Denny's. In the fall I had to move out of the ward, and Kirie (one of our mutual friends) suggested to him to ask me on a date. He *finally* did:). Our first date was September 8th. He took me ax throwing, finished with shaved ice at Bahama Bucks. It was very fun. About a month and a half (yeah, a month and a half) later he started holding my hand, and then asked me to be his girlfriend on November 16th, after about a million rounds of air hockey at Nicklecade. And we've just been going on adventures ever since:).
I *love* cross country skiing, and I had called our buds, Sam and Calee, and we were planning to go that weekend to Sundance. The day finally came, I was pumped. Sam and Calee had their first kiss up there next to a tree, which they were trying to find the whole time. They found a tree they thought was *the* tree, unclipped their skis, and took poles and carved "C+S" into the bark of the tree, with a little heart around it, just like the movies. Then we took their picture for them, made some jokes, and clipped in and kept skiing. They made a comment somewhere along the way that we needed to find a tree, and we agreed, but then kind of forgot as we got into skiing. We came to a meadow and were about to finish when they reminded us about finding a "special tree". I think I said something about our special tree not being like their special tree, but I was still willing to vandalize the wilderness so what the heck. We found a big white aspen and unclipped next to it. I carved the J really well, and that boosted my confidence just enough to try a stylistic R, which I completely messed up, it looked like an A, it looked horrible. I gave up, and Jaron carved the rest of it and did a little heart around the "J+R". Then we took our picture, just like Sam and Calee, and I turned to clip in and start skiing again when he grabbed my arm and said, "wait, I have something that'll make this a special tree..." and then he got on one knee, and asked me to marry him, and I said yes of course, and then we were all happy and got some celebration thai food, it was magical.
