Raquel and Eric met through their long-time friend group at their church! They knew each other as high-schoolers but didn't really start talking to each other until they were both in college. Raquel made her move by always trying to invite Eric out to the movies, and Eric made his move by taking fake piano lessons from Raquel. To this day, Eric still can't play piano.

One day, Eric took Raquel on a surprise trip out of state, and Raquel had absolutely no idea where they were going. Eric drove the both of them over 1,000 miles to Redwood National Park in California. They spent the weekend exploring amazing forests and hanging out with giant trees. The last day of the trip, Eric proposed at a beautiful lighthouse overlooking the sea, which made Raquel cry a lot. This wonderful trip was the impetus for Eric and Raquel to set a goal to visit every National Park in the US together in their lifetime.
