Adrian and Raquel met through a mutual friend on a sunny San Diego day. Instantly drawn to one another's energy and similar upbringing, they quickly became friends. Adrian was charmed by Raquel but misread she was attempting to "friend zone" him; so he did the same. This only strengthened their friendship. When Adrian was invited to be the best man at his friend's wedding, he knew the perfect person to ask to be his plus one.
