Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

The weather can be very unpredictable this time of year. Obviously, we are hoping for blue skies, crisp temperatures, and no wind–but be sure to check the weather a few days before your arrival.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Mammoth Lakes is a mountain town that can get quite cold this time of year. Overall, you will want your clothes to be on the warmer, more rugged, and more comfortable side of things. For specific event guidelines, please see the schedule.

Question

What is the Altitude? Will I get altitude sickness?

Answer

The altitude in the center of the town of Mammoth Lakes is around 7800’. The ceremony and reception are both around 8600'. Altitude sickness can occur at any height above 8000’. Common symptoms are headaches and shortness of breath. Lindsay is prone to altitude sickness and has found that drinking lots of water before arrival and during your first day in town works well. Advil does wonders and be sure you are eating enough! If you’d like to learn more please visit this link https://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/altitude-sickness.

Question

What will the food be like?

Answer

As you all likely know, Daniel and Lindsay are vegan. All food provided by the bride and groom will be vegan including the cake and even the wine! If you have any allergies (ie celiac, nut allergies, etc.) please let us know as early as possible so we can be sure have a food option for you.

Question

What should I know about Mammoth?

Answer

Mammoth is a small ski resort town in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. October is a beautiful fall month with a range of fun outdoor activities to partake in like hiking, kayaking, and camping. Unfortunately, it’s typically too early to ski. Nearby, you have Mono Lake, Bodie Ghost Town, Lake Tahoe, and the incredible Yosemite National Park. If you have the time, we highly recommend a trip to Yosemite as that is where we got engaged!
