Little did we know that during the pandemic, a time of so much uncertainty in the world, we'd meet our other half. It was late August of 2020, and we both decided to give online dating a try. After swiping right on Bumble, we began messaging and met a few days later at the Occoquan Regional Park. I will never forget how Ryan introduced himself with such kindness and excitement, as we met in person. It was an extremely hot day, but that didn't stop us from talking for a few hours. It was very clear we had an immediate connection. We found we had a lot in common, and conversation was easy, comforting and enjoyable. We both left the date, eager to see each other again and planned a second date for a few days later. From then on, we knew we had something special that would soon develop into the love we always wanted and finally found.

It was the beginning of October 2022 when Ryan began discussing my birthday weekend. He mentioned that he wanted Tiff, John, the two of us, and Teddy to take a trip away to celebrate. Ryan knew the four of us enjoyed hiking, and road trips, so he found a beautiful airbnb in Wardensville, WV. The airbnb was an A-frame cabin and we were so excited to enjoy our birthday! Little did I know, what was coming. The next morning, Ryan planned a hike for us, got Teddy his hiking backpack, and up the mountain we went. The mountain was way steeper than we planned, but each time we wanted to stop, Ryan was eager to get to the top. The view was incredible and the leaves were full of color. Tiff began taking our picture when all of a sudden, Ryan said, "Look at that cloud" and as I turned, he got on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was SO excited and knew it was the easiest yes of my life! We went up the mountain as boyfriend and girlfriend and came down as fiances! It was truly the best day/ birthday weekend ever!
