Picture this: one day after my 19th birthday, a beautiful but hot July afternoon, my good friend and I are excited; we are going to the infamous all black party and it is our first time. So, we go to the mall and find our little black dresses because that’s what girls do. After picking out our party dresses, my friend has to meet up with her boyfriend to retrieve something so they decide we are going to meet at a 7-Eleven close to the mall. When we arrive, my friend hops out of the car and I stay back, yapping on my phone to my other friend about the cute dresses we had on. I was not paying attention but all of a sudden, a young man walks up to my car, opens the passenger door, and gets in the car. I get off the phone at this point and he begins smoothly and casually introducing himself to me. Come to find out, he is my friend’s boyfriend’s best friend, such a tongue twister. He proceeds to tell me that not only is he going to the party for sure now but I am going to be his date — no ifs or buts about it. You’re probably thinking that is where our love story began — WRONG. It would be years later, where we would go through a long journey of friendship before one fateful April Fools Day when we would officially start courting. Now, guess what? This June, we are making it official! Polo and I are saying “I Do” and it is our honor to invite you to celebrate this blissful occasion with us and our families.
