December 19th, 2020 is when our lives changed for the better. We met on Tinder, which is crazy, I know. Almost every night we would call or facetime each other and just talk about the most random things for hours. After about 2 weeks of just talking on the phone and texting, we finally met each other. Tyler drove down to my apartment to hang out for the day. We made guacamole, drank some beer and watched Harry Potter movies all day. After that first time hanging out with each other, Tyler drove about 45 minutes every chance he could to come hang out with me. Over the course of the next month, our connection became deeper and we starting falling in love with each other. January 30th, 2021 is the day we officially started dating. We were laying on the couch cuddling, watching a movie in our sweats when he just blurted out “Will you be my girlfriend?” Obviously I said yes or we wouldn’t be here! About a month and a half later, on March 27th, 2021 is when we said the three big words, “I love you”. In true Tyler and Madison fashion, we were just hanging out on the couch, talking about life when all of a sudden, Tyler said “Hold on, I need to get this right”. Now, if any of you know Tyler, you know his favorite movie is The Lion King. He turned on the song “Can you feel the love tonight”, looked me in my eyes and said “I love you”. In that moment, I fell deeper in love with him and knew he would be the one I would marry. In March of 2022, Tyler and his adorable dog Hunter(aka the other love of my life) moved into my apartment. Living with each other definitely showed us other sides of each other, but it’s how our relationship blossomed into the beautiful thing it is today. Sometime during 2023, Tyler brought up the idea of going on a trip for our 3 year anniversary. The 3 year mark was something special to both of us. It seems silly, but before we got together, neither of us had been in a relationship that was longer than 2 years. So Tyler thought to take a trip to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. After going back and forth, we decided on Puerto Rico. The first week of January 2024 is when we went and it was the best week of our lives! Traveling around the island, staying in our adorable airbnb, and just being in each other’s company was really the best way to spend our 3 year anniversary. Before we left for the trip, I was thinking that he might end up proposing because it would be a perfect time to! I was trying not to get my hopes up, but I prepared myself for it just in case. But, I’m glad he didn’t propose then because the way it happened was in true Tyler and Madison fashion. July 4th, 2024 is when my sweet dear proposed! Every year we go on a tubing trip down Rifle River with Ty’s family and this year I suspected that something was happening, he had said some things a couple days prior that was a little suspicious, so I prepared myself just in case. We got back from our tubing trip, went home and changed. I had thrown on sweatpants and a sweatshirt because I was exhausted and we were just going to be hanging out the rest of the night, so why not sweats and a sweatshirt? Ty asked me twice before I left if that’s what I was wearing, I said yeah, everyone’s going to be in their sweats and this is the only thing I packed. I was so tired I didn’t really think of it. We went back to Ty’s Grandmas’s house to eat and hangout. Once it got dark out, we started lighting off fireworks. Hunter started getting a little anxious because of the noise, so I went to go put him in the house. Once I came back out, Ty grabbed me and started leading me so we were in front of the fireworks, grabbed my hands, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! His cousins then came out and had three beautiful bouquets of flowers for me! It was the perfect proposal for us and I can’t wait to marry my best friend!💗
