It is hard to believe it has been 10 years since Pat and Jenn met. Pat and Jenn met during their Freshman Year at Cortland. Pat and Jenn were in multiple classes together, but they really hit it off in Foundations of Democracy with Professor Steck. The couple still jokes about his class and their first few conversations. Pat mustered up the energy to sit next to Jenn in class. Jenn didn't like that this new guy was sitting, in the clearly open seat, next to her... which was so no one would sit there, but Pat didn't care. He would joke with and pick on Jenn about pretty much anything. This was the start of their beautiful friendship. Jenn's roomate Aimee knew how much Pat really liked Jenn but Jenn was reluctant, Pat was too good of a guy and "not her type". Jenn remained stubborn for YEARS. They both knew they needed to be in each other’s lives and remained close friends, even after Pat transferred to Jacksonville.
The summer after their Junior year of college, Pat invited Jenn Upstate New York. Pat told Jenn that Luke Bryan was in town and one of his friend's had a house close enough that you could hear the concert from the backyard. Jenn had nothing else going on, so she took the 5 hour drive up to Corning, NY. Little did the two know that this would be the start of their beautiful relationship. Update, the two did not go to the concert, as a matter of fact, none of his friends did. Pat thought to make up for that, they would spend a day on the lake with his friends...the boat didn't start. As you can see, the weekend was off to a great start. In one last effort, to show Jenn a good time upstate NY, Pat took Jenn for a hike to Watkins Glen State Park. That weekend everything fell into place.
Everyone expected Pat to have a grand gesture for his proposal to Jenn. Jenn wasn't even sure how or when it would happen. Then, just like a classic, subtle Pat move, he popped the question on a beautiful summer night while relaxing on their patio. A night the couple will never forget.
We are excited to celebrate our love for one another with our family and friends at The Rust Manor House.
