Growing up in a small town, it's hard to pin-point the exact moment that we met. We actually went to the same middle school, Jackson Junior High. Nick was in 8th grade when I (CJ) was in 6th grade. I knew of Nick as the cute older boy and Nick, obviously, had no idea I existed. Throughout high school we both knew who each other were, but had never really "met." Fast-forward to my senior year of high school and what we consider our actual first meeting. A friend of mine happened to be dating a friend of Nicks. We all got together one night ... and the rest is history.

We had been planning a trip to Napa with our good friends Shelby and Cody. That morning, we drove to Napa and once we had arrived at the first winery, Shelby and I (CJ) went to use the restroom. When we came out, Nick and Cody were waiting for us at the back of the winery in a spot to take pictures. They told Nick and I to take a picture first. As we walked out there, I started to fix my hair to get picture ready and then Nick got down on one knee and proposed. I was shocked (which is surprising because I am nosy and always thought I would know when Nick was planning to propose). But the surprise didn't stop there, Nick had my best friend, Amy, show up for the surprise as well. The 5 of us then spent the day celebrating and winery hoping in Napa.
