We met at Paddy’s Beach Club during Randy’s senior week at URI in 2019. It was all fun in the sun. A day we both expected to be nothing more than a memory. A couple of months later, we officially started dating, right as I was heading into my senior year of college. When I decided to go to grad school, we knew we’d be doing long-distance for a while. The next three years were full of train rides, road trips, and counting down the days until the next visit. Randy made the trip to Arlington, often while working through the police academy and committing himself to something bigger than both of us. We were each growing, separately but together. It wasn’t always easy, but we kept showing up for each other, and that made all the difference. Eventually in 2023, the distance ended. I graduated, and we both found jobs in New Jersey. We moved into our first apartment together in Matawan. No more long distance and no more goodbyes. We enjoyed our first year living together with trips to the beach, dinners with friends, and adventures around NJ. Then came the next step, house hunting. It didn’t take long before we found a place in Middletown that just felt right, like the kind of home where we could grow roots. But before we closed on it, something even bigger happened... In April 2025, while on a family trip to Hawaii to celebrate my mom’s 70th birthday, Randy got down on one knee. With the ocean behind us and the most beautiful sunset in the sky, he proposed and I said yes. Since then, we’ve been in what we like to call “engagement bliss.” We’ve been juggling wedding planning and house projects, making decisions together that shape our future. It’s been a whirlwind of a year, but we’re so excited to celebrate our marriage with all our favorite people in September 2026.
