Long story short...we met at a club. Anna and Randy were both out in Capitol Hill in early May 2018. Even though neither of them had ever been to Havana Social Club, it seemed like a cool place to check out. In their usual fashion, Anna and her friend Meena were dancing the night away, when they were approached by a couple of guys (spoiler alert: one of them was Randy). After chatting a bit, Randy bought both ladies a drink (a very un-creepy and unexpected move - take notes, folks) and they all headed back to enjoy their evening together. Over the sound of blaring 90s hip hop, Randy and Anna found out they were both pretty ambitious -- one entering medical school and the other working on her PhD. When Anna mentioned the daunting task of writing her dissertation, Randy made some offhanded comment about it being a Harry Potter book. Obviously, Anna was swept off her feet. After exchanging numbers and going on their first (all day!) date a week later, Randy was off to pre-game med school with a 40 day trip to Europe. Despite all of the (very safe and definitely not wild) adventures, Randy never stopped sending Snapchats to Anna -- the Sistine Chapel, the Cologne Cathedral, some warehouse party in Berlin -- and Anna never stopped talking to everybody about this cute boy she was hitting it off with. When Randy came back to Seattle, they finally reunited for their second date.... And the rest is history.
