Our Love Story

High School Sweethearts

We went on one date as a couple kids and 10 years later we are becoming husband and wife. Never did I think I’d be marrying the guy I’ve had a crush on since the sixth grade! We went on our first date in high school and we saw “I am Legend” then got some dinner. We had a great time, but what sealed the deal was our drive home. We had two hours to kill before curfew so he parked on a backroad by a field and we talked about absolutely everything. It’s to this day, one of my favorite nights we’ve had together. From then to now we’ve been through a lot. Together. Robert joined the Air Force the October after his graduation and we had a long distance relationship for two years. It wasn’t easy, but defiantly made us stronger. Once I graduated high school, we didn’t want to be apart anymore, so I moved to Minot North Dakota where he was stationed. Everyone called us crazy and shared their doubts, but we didn’t care. We knew what we had was rare and we weren’t going to give up. We lived there together for four years. Minot brought us some really cold days, life long friends, and a lot of growth in our relationship. We finally got to move home in 2014 and it was one of our happiest days! We were so excited to start our life together with family and friends close by. Later on, what was thought to be our first day of vacation, actually turned out to be the day we got engaged. We were sitting on the beach and had memorable, sweet conversation. He then got on one knee and asked me to be his wife. Now here we are! Everything in our relationship has happened in perfect timing. We’ve learned a lot from each other over the past 10 years and have grown and changed tremendously. We have so many dreams for our life and support each others goals for the future. We’ve become best friends, a team. Something my mom has always said to me since our first year dating “I believe with all my heart, you and Robert are soulmates”. Mom is always right.
