Some love stories are written quietly in the background before they ever step into the spotlight, and that’s exactly how Emilee and Austin’s began! These two grew up just minutes apart, even running in the same high school circles, without realizing that the person they’d eventually build a life with was right there all along! Years later, with just a faint memory of one another, their paths finally crossed again. That simple reconnection turned into late-night conversations, deep laughter, and eventually the love that brought them here today! Their first date was sweet and simple. Emilee was living in Columbia while going to Mizzou, and Austin came over to watch the Chiefs game. Emilee cooked dinner, and even though the roads turned icy on his way home, Austin said he couldn’t wipe the smile off his face the entire drive. Neither could she! Sometimes, love is quiet but certain right from the start!
For Emilee, it was a spring day that stands out. She mentioned missing soccer, something she loved in high school. The very next day, Austin showed up at her apartment in tennis shoes, determined to get her back on the field. They scrimmaged against each other, laughing and playing until her spirit was lighter. That small but intentional gesture was all she needed to know, he would always be the one she could lean on! For Austin, the moment came with grease-stained hands and a broken down Chevy. The first time Emilee came out to Russellville with him, his truck gave out almost immediately. Instead of frustration, Emilee sat on the side of the road, smiling while he worked, then followed him to the shop and even offered to help with his project vehicle. Her patience and willingness to stick by him through the unexpected sealed it, he knew she was the one who would weather any storm with him!
On July 26, 2025, Austin carried a little secret in his pocket all day long! They had plans to celebrate Emilee’s sister’s birthday at the lake, but Austin was determined to get Emilee down to her parents’ dock by sunset. Before the proposal, Austin was worried Emilee would accidentally find the ring, so he decided to keep it in his pocket. Even through a boat ride at the Lake, he kept that ring in his pocket, so it’s a good thing he kept a death grip on the gorgeous ring! With waves lapping gently against the wood and the summer evening settling in, Austin asked Emilee to marry him! It was just the two of them, intimate and perfect! For a few minutes, the moment belonged only to them before they walked back up the hill to share the news! Their families were shocked, overjoyed, and quick to celebrate the start of something so special. Written by: Morgan Lee Photography
