Our Story

Some stories start with a first meeting. Ours started long before we ever imagined we’d end up here. Way back in high school, Caroline met Rod’s little sister, Constanza, and the two quickly became best friends. Rod was “the cool older brother” - a slightly intimidating, punk guy in the background that Caroline mostly tried to ignore. But he was always there. Whether it was at house parties DJ’ing and creating the kind of energy everyone wanted to be around, or just existing on the edge of those shared spaces, their worlds overlapped without ever quite connecting. Life eventually took them in different directions. Caroline followed her path to Clearwater, Florida. Rod made his way to Seattle, Washington. Years later, after COVID shifted so much for everyone, Rod decided to spend some time in Clearwater. He worked with his brother Leo to acquire and renovate a duplex, and during that time, Caroline and Rod crossed paths again here and there. Still not one-on-one. Still not quite their moment. That came later. About a year ago, in a completely casual conversation, Caroline was chatting with Leo about how difficult it had been to find a truly great guy. Leo, seeing something she didn’t yet, asked if he could pass her number along to Rod. That one small decision changed everything. Rod called her, and from that very first conversation, something was different. What started as a simple phone call turned into hours of talking… every single day. There was no awkwardness, no surface-level small talk, just a natural, effortless connection that kept unfolding the more they got to know each other. It didn’t take long to realize this wasn’t ordinary. Later, Rod invited Caroline to come visit him in Seattle for the weekend. She said yes and that trip became the beginning of everything. From the moment she arrived, he showed her his world. They explored the city, took in the views from the top of Columbia Center, and stood together at Snoqualmie Falls, one of those places that doesn’t just look beautiful, it feels like something. Magical, grounding, unforgettable. It was there, in the middle of all those moments, that something quietly settled into place. This was real. Over the next few months, their connection only deepened. Caroline returned to Seattle again, this time for his brother Alan’s wedding, celebrating, laughing, going to a baseball game with the rehearsal dinner group, and even playing a Tiger King-themed mystery game that somehow felt perfectly on-brand for their story. But beyond the trips and the big moments, it was the everyday things that mattered most. Rodrigo showed up in a way Caroline had never experienced before, consistent, thoughtful, and deeply present. He makes her feel cared for in the smallest, most meaningful ways, and brings a steady sense of grounding into her life. And somewhere along the way, there was a moment that made everything undeniable. It wasn’t grand or dramatic. It was a pair of socks. That’s when she knew, this wasn’t just something exciting or new. This was love. Together, they’ve built a relationship rooted in connection, laughter, and shared moments, especially through music. Rod sends Caroline a “song of the day” almost every day, introducing her to sounds and artists she’s never heard before, creating a soundtrack that’s uniquely theirs. And while life is still unfolding, one thing is certain: They’ve found something steady in each other. These days, they’re building a life centered around the simple but meaningful things, sharing sunrises and sunsets, growing together, and creating a relationship that feels strong, calm, and lasting at its core. (And as a very important bonus… the dogs are completely obsessed with him, and the feeling is mutual.) Because at the end of the day, their story isn’t about perfect timing or a traditional path. It’s about two people whose lives kept crossing… until one day, they finally chose each other.
