Flight

Airports

There are 3 airports you can fly in and out of for Paris: - Orly - Charles de Gaulle - Beauvais. CDG (Charles de Gaulle) is probably the largest and most common and is about 35 mins outside the city center without traffic. The link below ("View") has transport resources to get to and from Paris and it's airports. Uber is available but not as quickly accessible as it is in the states. Having cash on hand will be helpful as some cab drivers will not have card readers.

French Basics

Most people you interact with will likely speak English, especially if you're sticking around the city center/ Eiffel Tower area. Some basic sentences that will come in handy are: - Bonjour! (Good morning, hello) - Merci/Merci beaucoup. (Thank you/Thank you very much.) - Parlez-vous anglais? (Do you speak English ?) - Au revoir! (Goodbye !) - Où sont des toilettes? (Where are the toilets?) - More here: https://takelessons.com/live/french/useful-french-phrases-travelers-z04 Duolingo is also a great resource if you're interested in learning or practicing french with audio to better understand and recognize pronunciation. Apple's Built-In iPhone Translate App can be super helpful when trying to have a conversation with someone who does not speak english (like an airbnb host). More on that here if you've never used it before: - https://youtu.be/OKlMkYJO07U - https://www.macrumors.com/guide/apple-translate/ You can also translate text via image on iPhone if you're at a restaurant that does not offer an English menu. Here's how to use that: https://youtu.be/814x5LvqS8Q
