How We Met

Both coming from a small town, Paul and I, as well as our families have always known of each other; Paul's mom even attended my mom's baby shower while pregnant with me! During the summer of 2013, I went on a trip with my family to Mackinac Island. After "checking in" on Facebook, Paul sent me a message on facebook asking me to bring him some orange-flavored Mackinac fudge. I've always thought Paul was a cutie, so I didn't hesitate to bring home a sweet treat for him. Later that week, I met him at the Armada fair where we got to know each other, but remained only friends. In winter of 2015, Paul and I went on our first, official, date to see the movie "Krampus." We continued to go on dates and to get to know each other more throughout the winter months; however, we both knew that I was leaving for Ferris State University that fall and remained friends. It seemed that the saying, "right person, wrong time," held true. In the spring of 2017. Paul came with a mutual friend, Abbey, to FSU to visit his sister, Claire(Bridesmaid). At some point during the time, we ended up at the same party held at the Phi Sigma Kappa house where I regularly hung out. We were attached at the hip all night while we celebrated life. A couple weeks later, I moved home for the summer, and we became inseparable. We spent the next year talking over FaceTime every night and finding any free weekend to go visit each other. In late November of 2017, I met Paul in Grand Rapids for an Arron Lewis concert. During the concert, I watched as Paul enjoyed the live music and soaked up the energy of the crowd. In that moment, I knew that he was "the one." This was the person who I was meant to find. I'm thankful every single day that God put him in my life.

How He Proposed

On Labor Day Weekend of 2019, Paul and I drove from our home in Knoxville to meet half of my family in Shanksville, PA. Paul had never been to Pennsylvania, and I was excited to show him from where my mom's family stems from. On Sunday night, the family was sitting around the campfire and I had quickly run into the house. When I came back out to my family and the fire, Paul grabbed my hand, he got down on one knee, and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I was lost for words and could do nothing except smile (it was my implied acceptance, haha)! My family had all busted out in shock and awe, and they welcomed Paul into the family with open arms. It was a perfect moment!

Our Little Flower Girl

First comes love, then comes... baby?

May 3rd, 2020, a little over 7 months into our wedding planning adventure, we found out that we were going to be parents! We guess the universe decided we needed a flower girl to make our wedding perfect. Savannah Elizabeth made her grand entrance January 21, 2021. Our family started a little sooner than we ever imagined, but we’re excited to have her join us during our celebration of marriage!
