Audrey and Rance initially met while attending college at The University of Alabama. Audrey was a freshman while Rance was a junior, and they only had brief interactions on campus. Audrey ended up transferring to UAB after sophomore year, and they lost contact outside of being friends on social media and wouldn't come in contact with each other for the next ten years outside of social media. In the Fall of 2021, there was an answered prayer from God, and Rance and Audrey would reconnect! On Monday, August 23, 2021, after leaving Big Bad Breakfast with coworkers, Rance briefly looked on his Instagram page and saw a friend request from "Audrey Woods." He immediately recognized the name, accepted the request, and proceeded to message her instantly to confirm that her phone number was still the same so he could reach out expeditiously! Shortly after, he called, asked her how she had been and what her schedule was like, and attempted to set up a meeting, but she declined due to having a busy schedule and not being much of a "last minute" plans type of person. Rance, being very persistent and overly excited to be in contact with her, wouldn't take no for an answer, and once she mentioned how she would be attending a birthday dinner downtown he saw fit to invite her to pull up to the gym beforehand and utilize the brief time before she went to the event. They would indeed see each other briefly, and when they parted ways, they ended up talking on the phone later that night for hours and hours. The two of them would go on their first date a week later at Regions Field for a Birmingham Barons game (box seats of course because Rance is romantic lol) and even went to get drinks and food at 4 Seasons afterwards. They would again enjoy this event, the laughter, bonding, and talking on the phone that night and every day since. Rance and Audrey would come to be like two peas in a pod and inseparable over the next two years, with both earning additional degrees, starting new careers, taking a plethora of trips; and on March 9th, 2024, Rance held Audrey with a surprise birthday party and asked her to be his wife, and she accepted in front of their family and closest friends.
