Brandon and I worked together for quite some time before even talking to each other. He was in Sales and I was in Marketing so we knew who each other were but never had a real conversation. One day we both got invited to a happy hour which led to me taking him home (his car was in the shop). We didn’t realize just how close we lived to each other so once we came to that realization I ended up taking him home quite often while his car was being fixed. We would stop at the restaurant by his apartment most times for a drink, which led to conversation, and hours later I finally went home. During one of those conversations he told me how he loved to cook. I proceeded to tell him that I loved to bake and said, “maybe you should cook for me sometime and prove it”.... I know, I know, I made the first move. That following Saturday he was going to make dinner and I would bring dessert. I showed up to his place dessert in hand ready to be wowed... He made scallops, salad, and attempted to make olive oil noodles. I didn’t know what that even meant but when the oil melted the syringe looking utensil that he was using I could see him start to freak out a little. I told him not to worry about it and we sat down to eat dinner. While eating he looked over to me dead serious and says, “I didn’t realize this was a date”... For real dude... I quickly responded with, “Do you think I just go to random peoples houses for dinner”? He said, “I do”. We laughed moved on and a little over 2 years later he asked me to be his wife!

Brandon finished his college degree and I planned for us to go to dinner at a restaurant that he had been wanting to go to. What he “didn’t know” was that I planned for all of his friends and some of mine to meet us out afterwards for a surprise to celebrate (little did I know, he knew the whole time)! As we were getting ready to leave I was changing my bag to a smaller purse and was not really paying much attention. He came towards me and says that he doesn’t want to celebrate just him, that he wanted to celebrate us. I kept changing my purse and said, uhhhh ok, what are we going to celebrate? When I finally look over he bends down on his knee and tells me, “I love you so much and want to spend the rest of my life with you”. He said some more things that are a haze at this point because I was so stunned but I do remember him saying, “Will you marry me?” I looked at him and said, “Yes, of course!”
