Our story began at East Bay High School. I was in 9th grade and Ramsey was in 11th grade. We had one class together, science with Mr. Oggero. I couldn't seem to focus in class because I had my eyes on Ramsey. He was my first high school crush. We ended up dating but not for long because of our age differences. But that didn't stop us from being friends afterwards. I honestly never stopped loving him. As years went by, we stayed connected here and there. We went through a lot of life experiences. Ramsey went into the Marine Corp as I was finishing high school and then starting college. Ramsey had his son, Tucker and I had my daughter, Emilyn. Ramsey now currently lives in Adel, GA as I live in Ruskin, FL. Because of one memory we had together in high school, we rekindled after 9 years and the rest is history. Knowing the long distance (almost 4 hours away), that didn't stop us from getting back together. We dated for over a year traveling back and forth almost every weekend. We had our up and downs and still have a lot to figure out in life. But our story doesn't end here. Our adventure is only the beginning.
One day, out of the blue, Ramsey asks if we can get a couples photo session done together. To my excitement, I was all for it. He wanted to get them done on the road where he grew up. When I found a photographer and got it on the date we wanted to do it, Ramsey asks me for their information. Little did I know, he was plotting to surprise me. *Side note: The weekend before the session, I got a little hint. We were in the car driving home and I put my hand on his lap but felt a small square figure in his pocket. I asked him what it was and he quickly said, "None of your damn business!" I was curious all week what it was. On the day of the photo session, as we're getting ready, I can tell something was off with Ramsey as he looked nervous. But I continued to stay excited to get pictures done together. We get there and begin the session. In the middle of the session, Ramsey asks if his mom can come. I said, "Of course!" I didn't really think anything of it as I was excited for her to come. Towards the end, the photographer asks us if we had anymore pose ideas. Ramsey says, "I have one." Drops down to one knee and asks me, "Will you marry me?" I was in absolute shock as he was telling me how everyone was in on it. I broke out crying and finally got to say, "YES!"
