In the middle of a pandemic, we both found ourselves at the Garden Church in Baltimore, MD. We decided to pursue membership simultaneously and get to know each other in new member classes, bible studies, and church services. We soon decided to pursue dating, and the rest is history!
As our relationship became more serious, we started to breach the subject of marriage. Through many discussions, we began to talk about the intricacies and logistics of a wedding and the following married life. Because of these conversations, we realized that we were having conversations that most couples would have once they were engaged. We found ourselves wondering whether we were already engaged unofficially. We started to talk about the things that held us back from getting engaged such as, rings, lavish ceremonies, and the superficial aspects of a wedding, and both came to realize that none of that is important to us. At that moment, we discovered more than ever that we just wanted to be together and honor God in our relationship by taking steps in the direction of marriage. We felt that we were both ready to be married, and once we realized this, Parth proposed instantaneously, lead by the Spirit. What would have been a quiet night in at Parth's apartment became a seed planted for a beautiful start to a shared life between us.
