Ganesh & Gauri Puja The Ganesha pooja is the first event to take place in which the groom partakes and simultaneously the bride does Gauri Pooja. The aim is to remove all obstacles and bless the couple. Bride’s Entry The bride is carried in by her maternal uncles to the mandap. Jeelakarra-Bellam & Suba Muhurtham -- 11:37 am An auspicious hour that is determined by astrology. This is when the couple put cumin and jaggery-based paste on each other's heads. The sticky paste represents the bitter-sweet moments of life. Mangalsutram (Tieing The Knot) The groom ties the scared thaali 3 times around the bride's neck. Each knot signifies the union of the two souls physically, mentally, and spiritually. Talambralu & Pradhanam The bride and groom shower each other with rice, flower petals, and pearls symbolizing the celebration of the married couple. Saptapadi and Sthaalipaakam The bride and groom take seven rounds around holy fire symbolizing their vows to each other. Arundhati Nakshatram Arundhati and Vasistha stars symbolize the ideal couple, as in the solar system they rotate in synchrony - denoting the mutual importance of both partners. The wedding concluded at 1 pm, followed by lunch and pictures.
