Kristen and Corey met at a mutual friend's sweet sixteen in 2011. After hanging out together with friends and going on a couple of dates, Corey asked Kristen to be his girlfriend on March 7, 2012. In 2013, Corey and Kristen began college 297 miles apart from each other. Despite the distance, their relationship grew stronger. After 6 years of long distance, Kristen and Corey graduated from graduate school and started their lives as a 4th Grade Teacher and an Architect.

On December 26, 2019, Kristen and Corey traveled to the ballroom where they first met. Kristen, under the impression she was taking Corey to a surprise birthday party, had no idea what was about to happen. When they walked into the ballroom, Corey proposed surrounded by candles and rose petals. After 7 and a half years together, Kristen and Corey finally got engaged and will be tying the knot on July 9, 2021.
