What happens when you meet an introvert at the dog park? - Absolutely Nothing! It took quite some time but eventually Mike and I began talking and spending more and more time together! We built a strong foundation together as friends, and created memories that will never be forgotten.
This is easily our most contested subject. While Mike believes it occurred at one location, I share the same passion that it was another! What remains consistent, is that every time we go out together it feels like we're on our first date all over again!
Throughout our relationship together there have been numerous times where it feels like time freezes. Moments where we look at each other and can find solace in knowing we are on the right path, having made the best decision of our lives. The most memorable of those moments occurred 2 months into our relationship when Mike and I attended a concert on a whim. We made the trip out to Orlando and love was certainly in the air. When we made eye contact it felt like fireworks went off and the live music made every moment feel euphoric! Looking back, it's for that reason that there will always be a special place in our relationship involving Justin Bieber!
It's amazing how you find love in the places you are never looking, much like our own love story! We, through crazy circumstances, came into possession of two of the cutest, most loving dogs on the planet! Theodore (our mini schnauzer) and Oakley (our Golden Retriever) are two of the best things that have ever happened to us. Both of our dogs came into our lives during times of need and have been there through all the ups and downs. Once our boys began loving each other, we became one big Family!
This is the day that Mike describes as the most nervous he's ever been. With family ties to the number 22, we got engaged on December 22nd 2023 in St. Petersburg Florida. "St. Pete" was the first place that we went on a "Bae-cation" together, so that particular location holds a special place in our hearts. Mike set up his phone to take a selfie, and as we went to pose for the "photo" Mike turned and got down on his knee to propose. With both of us being nervous, Erika was speechless which resulted in Mike remaining on his knee for quite a while! On the other hand, Mike forgot how to use his words, neglected to give a speech, and instead channeled his inner WHAM and only whispered "Merry Christmas". There is never a dull moment for us, and this is something that we still laugh at almost 2 years later.
