Yes! While we are getting married on Thursday, the 18th - the north cascades is quite a drive out for both our out of town and Vancouver guests. We reserved an entire property with 9 bedrooms and 3 cabins for Wednesday the 17th until the 20th! We can't wait to share this incredible place with you all.
September in Washington can be unpredictable with temperatures as low as 44 or as high as 77. This is a suggestive list based on the events/activities we anticipate: -Hiking pants -Hiking tank -Light jacket -Hiking shoes/boots -Dress or slacks/shirt for the vows at Washington observation site and reception following the hike -Nice shoes for vows and reception (the walk to the vows is entirely paved but does have some uneven terrain on the rock, heels are ok if less than 1 1/2 inch) -Swimsuit -Flashlight or headlamp -Hiking backpack -Wool socks/heavy socks to avoid blisters under hiking boots -Snacks for backpack (beef jerky, protein bars, cheese sticks, trail mix etc.) -Water bottle -Bug spray (don't worry we will bring some extra if you can't fit this in your luggage) -Water shoes (if you have them) -Casual outfits - jeans, tee shirts, cargo pants -Yourself - as your are :) These are all suggestions but above all else we want you to kick back, relax, and be comfortable!
Please send us a text! We will be choosing dishes with the chef in March and would like to pass on this information for the reception dinner.
No, you don't! This hike is exceptional. The first time we did it, we knew it was special to us. With that being said, this is a challenging hike and we understand everyone may not want to take it on. Should you decide to come, we will have a surprise ceremony at the top and our first dance. Following this hike, we will head down to Sun Mountain Lodge for the reception dinner. If you decide the hike isn't for you, you are welcome to spend that day as you'd like and meet up later for the reception!
