Kanuga, which means “gathering place”, is an Episcopal Conference Center in Hendersonville, North Carolina. The Gaffney family has vacationed at Kanuga every summer since before Meredith was born. Raj and Meredith can’t wait to make memories with all of you during the wedding weekend!
You are invited to Friday, Saturday, and Sunday's events. Once you receive your invitation, please be sure to RSVP to each individual event using the RSVP tab.
On Friday night, we will be celebrating a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony. For ladies, a lehenga or sari in pastel colors are encouraged, but not required. For gentlemen, sherwanis in pastel colors are encouraged, but not required. On Saturday night, we will celebrate an Episcopal wedding ceremony. For ladies, cocktail or semi-formal dresses are appropriate. For gentlemen, a suit or coat and tie are appropriate. On Sunday, we will end our weekend with a farewell brunch. Please come as you are and send happy wishes to the bride and groom. Please be aware that Kanuga has varied terrain, including gravel, grass, small hills, and there will be some walking between ceremonies and receptions. Please plan your footwear accordingly.
We are excited to offer our guests a child-free experience at both the Friday and Saturday evening events. Childcare will be provided upon request, so please reach out to the bride and groom if your children are in need of a sitter, as we will have limited childcare available on site.
We are still arranging our hotel block at Kanuga. Please stay tuned until the Gaffneys and Agarwals report back!
Kanuga has enough lodging capacity for all of our guests. We are excited to invite our guests to participate fully in the weekend at Kanuga and do not have a hotel block in Hendersonville, nor do we have transportation to or from Hendersonville hotels during our wedding weekend.
The cost of your stay includes your meals for Saturday breakfast and lunch. You may also choose to visit the gift shop to purchase snacks, beverages, or some local desserts. The lobby has a coffee bar available, and there are additional coffee bar stations on the first and third floor of the Inn. Please see the front desk for Dining Hall and Gift Shop hours. While Kanuga allows guests to bring their own snacks and beverages and cottages are equipped with mini fridges, please be advised that guests should not walk throughout the grounds with open containers.
You are invited to go for a swim or take a canoe out on the lake, go fishing, bring your racquets and play tennis, ask the front desk for a trail map and go for a hike, enjoy a drink at Fleming's Bar by the lake, and visit the gift shop for an ice cream or a fresh brewed cup of coffee! (One of Meredith’s favorite Kanuga activities include reading a book in a rocking chair on the Lakeside Pavilion with a cocktail from Flemings.)
