In a room alive with music, swirling colors, and the rhythm of dancing feet, our eyes met across the crowd. And in that fleeting moment… the world seemed to pause. I noticed him suddenly walking over to me, with a deck of cards? I half listened as he instructed me to pick a card, and I met his gaze. Later that night, he complimented my red and green lehenga, dubbed the “Christmas outfit” and with each encounter on that dance floor, we shared shy smiles, and a silent connection that lingered long after the music faded. Soon, those brief moments turned into late-night messages, where we bonded over our love for old-school Bollywood songs and the strange feeling like we had known each other forever. Beyond our love for music and dance, we found something even more profound: a mutual passion for medicine. Our dreams pulled us in different directions, thousands of miles apart, but distance could not weaken our bond. Through countless FaceTime calls, long road trips, and tearful goodbyes, our love deepened. We were each other’s constant through the chaos. Then came the day that changed everything. What I believed to be a quiet hiking trip to Enchanted Rock turned into the most meaningful moment of our life. With nature all around us and a GoPro quietly capturing the stillness, he turned to me and knelt down on one knee. In his hand, a ring from Disney’s Enchanted collection. A perfect pun, an enchanted ring on an enchanted rock. He asked me to be his forever. I said yes, through tears and laughter. Since that day, we’ve built a life filled with adventure and love including anime nights, spontaneous food exploration, Pokémon Go walks, and daydreams of future travels. We are each other’s home, best friend, and feel incredibly blessed to have found this eternal love.
