When is the RSVP Deadline?

Answer

For the Pithi, Mehndi, Wedding and Reception, please RSVP by August 1st. In addition to RSVP for the Wedding, please RSVP for your hotel room if needed by August 1st as well! Otherwise, you might not get one.

When will formal invitations be sent out?

Answer

Invitations will be sent out no later than mid April.

Question

How do I book a hotel room with the Patel/Shapiro Group Rate?

Answer

Head over to the "Hotel Info" tab in the top of the wedding website, scroll down to the Group Rate and click "View". It will take you to Hilton's website where you will be able to book your room based on when you wish to arrive. Please just keep in mind the check in times to the hotel room as they are very strict and will not allow early check in with this specific group rate provided.

What do I do when the booking is full?

Answer

Please contact Raj via text or phone if there are any issues. We have to request to open more rooms based on availability of the hotel. It is on a first come, first serve basis. My Phone number: 630-345-2732

What should I do if I can't make it to the event?

You will be greatly missed! Please RSVP "no" if you are unable to attend any of the events as soon as you know!

Where should I park?

Answer

There is plenty of free parking at the venue. In addition, there is valet parking at the McCormick Place hotel for $59/day.

Will there be transportation to and from the Events?

Answer

For the Friday event (Pithi & Mehndi) there will not be any transportation that is included to and from the hotel or a shuttle service provided. We apologize. Rental cars, Lyfts, Ubers, or carpooling are all wonderful options to get around! If you are having difficulties arranging transportation, please reach out to the wedding party. For the WEDDING/RECEPTION for Saturday, there will be a Shuttle Service provided at the beginning of each event (time TBD) and at the end of each event. Please contact the parents of Danielle (Richard and Michelle Shapiro), Danielle, or Raj for more information as we approach closer to the dates.

Is the wedding and reception indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The baraat is outdoors on the morning of the wedding so please prepare for the weather accordingly as Chicago has very unpredictable weather. The wedding ceremony and reception will be held indoors.

What is the dress code for each of the events?

PITHI/MEHNDI Men: Colorful Kurta-Pyjama or Formal Cocktail Attire Women: Colorful Saree, Lehenga, or Chaniya Choli or Cocktail Dress WEDDING Men: Heavier Kurtas, Sherwanis, or Suits are perfectly acceptable. Women: Sarees, Lenghas, or Formal Cocktail Dress RECEPTION Men: Suits, Tuxedos, or Traditional Indian Formal Attire Women: Lehengas, Sarees, or Formal Western Cocktail Gowns

I would like to wear Indian attire to the wedding. Where do I start?

Answer

While there is no obligation to purchase an Indian outfit for our wedding (Western clothing is welcome!), we have had people express interest in purchasing traditional Indian attire. Colorful clothing is always welcome at an Indian wedding. Women generally wear traditional sarees, lehenga cholis (cropped tops with long skirts), or Anarkali's (long dresses). Men generally wear sherwanis or kurta-pyjamas (top and pants). Below, we have listed some websites that people have found helpful in the past. If you run into issues with obtaining your measurements for Indian clothing, there are several helpful videos on YouTube to help with this. Please be mindful that some stores might require measurements in centimeters rather than in inches, so it's always a good idea to clarify. What type of food will be available at your wedding?

Answer

A light lunch will be served at the venue on the day of the wedding. If you choose to stay at our hotel block in the Hampton Inn at Hilton McCormick Place, a complimentary Western breakfast will be available in the morning. We recommend eating a little heavy as the Lunch is going to be on the lighter side. Dinner will a combination of Indian and Italian with Vegetarian options. If you have any specific allergies or food-related questions, please reach out and let us know!

Can I bring a plus one or children?

We will only be able to accommodate those who are listed on your invitation. Thank you for understanding.

Where are you registered for wedding gifts?

Answer

On the top of the screen you will see a tab labeled "Registry", click that and there you will see many different cash funds as well as some items we added to our registry. Whatever you choose, we are going to be most grateful for.
