Question

Are there any travel restrictions to Hawaii? If so what are they?

Answer

Please follow this website for all up to date information on Hawaii’s travel restrictions: https://hawaiicovid19.com/travel/

Question

Do you need a passport to travel here?

Answer

If you are traveling from the United States you will not need a passport to travel to Hawaii. If you are traveling from any other country outside of the United States you will need a passport.

Question

What is the time difference when traveling to Hawaii?

Answer

Hawaii doesn’t observe daylight savings time so they’re 3 hours behind West coast time and 6 hours behind East cost time when we’re on daylight savings time and 2/5 hours when we’re not.

Question

Do I have to book our stay at the Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort?

Answer

No, absolutely not. I have listed other options for hotel stay in the area under the travel section on our website. You are more than welcome to research AirBnB options too in the area. I would highly recommend to stay at a resort close to our wedding venue so you don’t have to worry about traveling far.

Question

What is the weather like in Hawaii?

Answer

Hawaii has a semi tropical weather. Temperatures usually range from 75-90 degrees year round in the daytime and 70-80 degrees at night.

Question

Will I need a rental car?

Answer

You don’t necessarily need a rental car. The big island does offer taxis, Uber and Lyft services. However, it takes 6-9 hours to drive around the entire island without stopping so it is a fairly big island to travel around. If you do plan to sight see around the island, it maybe less costly to just rent a car. I would recommend comparing your options depending on what you have planned for sight seeing.

Question

Which airport do you recommend to travel to?

Answer

I recommend flying into the Kona International Airport, which is the closest airport to our wedding venue. It is approximately 25 minute car ride to the Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort. The resort does offer a shuttle to and from the airport. If you end up staying at another resort other than the Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort, you will need to inquire with them if they offer shuttle services. However the airport does offer Taxi service, Uber, Lyft, and car rental service to take you to where you are staying.

Question

What are your plans in case the wedding is postponed due to Covid?

Answer

We are working with our wedding planner and the venue to make sure our event will be safe environment for our guests. We recommend our guests to monitor our wedding website for any future updates in the event plans should change.
