Yes! We're glad you asked - we hope to maximize time with our guests and are planning a luau-themed beach-side mixer (pool party) on Wednesday, September 8th, which is the night that our wedding party is scheduled to arrive at the Sunset Beach Resort. Join us at 6pm and meet our crew or catch up before the wedding. On the night of the wedding, Friday September 10th, join us after the reception in Siesta Key’s The Village where we'll take the party when our venue requires us to start closing down at 10pm. We would absolutely love to spend the extra time with you.
Both the ceremony and reception will be held outdoors at the Sunset Beach Resort on Siesta Key, Florida. Visit the resort website directly for more information - http://www.sunsetbeachresortsiestakey.com/
Because getting to the wedding will require several modes of transportation for most of our out-of-town guests, we recommend that you arrive the day prior Thursday). On the wedding day Friday), we recommend you arrive no later than 4pm (a half hour before the start of the ceremony) - this way we can get the party started as scheduled!
Both will be outdoors; the ceremony will be held on the beach in front of the resort (wear sunscreen!) and is followed by an outdoor tent reception in the resort's grassy, poolside courtyard.
Guests can park for free on site at the Sunset Beach Resort.
After we exchange vows, guests will enjoy small bites, cocktails, and a cigar lounge during Cocktail Hour. The on-site Reception with dinner will follow. After that is the "after party" downtown in the village - just a 5 minute walk from the venue.
RSVP no later than Friday, August 13th! You can RSVP directly on this website by clicking the RSVP tab and using the lookup tool to find your party's name. Planning a destination wedding requires a longer timeline to ensure all of our vendors are well-prepared, so please help us make this the best event possible by responding at your earliest convenience.
We love your kids--we really do--but outside of the junior members of our wedding party, we graciously request the ceremony and reception be an adults-only occasion. We want our wedding to be your night off!
We hope our wedding will be a fun excuse to wear your favorite formal summer attire! We ask that attire be “beach formal” - so a formal summer dress (maxi or tea-length) with flats or wedges for the ladies and a summer suit with linen shirt, linen pants or khakis for the gentlemen would work perfectly. Check out this site for more information and ideas - https://destinationweddingdetails.com/beach-wedding-attire-tips.html
Yes! We've reserved a block of 10 rooms at the Tropical Breeze Resort, and 2-3 suites are still available. It's directly across from our wedding venue, making it very convenient to dance the night away and then get back safely with just a 1-minute walk to your room. Reserved rooms are offered at a discounted rate!! Please contact the resort and indicate you're with the "Raines-Munger Wedding Block" to receive our discounted rate.
In August of last year we made the very difficult decision to postpone our wedding until September 10th, 2021 due to the pandemic. A year later, that day is only weeks away! Your and our health will always be the top priority, and while this was a heartbreaking hurdle to our lives as Mr. and Mrs. Munger, it was much easier than the idea of putting our loved ones at risk or looking back on our day with sadness and regret. When it comes right down to it, marriage is a commitment made by two people but a wedding is a party that can be rescheduled, so that is the route we have decided to take. If you haven't already, RSVP for our new date - September 10th, 2021 - one year from our original date and located at the same Siesta Key resort as originally planned. We are still very much in love and continue to take advantage of the extra year being engaged!
If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes - if not, we would prefer if it was just you. If you'd like to double check - get in touch with Kathryn or Josh!
During the ceremony, we ask that you silence your phones and let our photographer and videographer capture these moments uninterrupted. But before and after the ceremony - YES! We encourage guests to post pictures on their social media accounts - our only request is that you tag your photos with our wedding hashtag #loveisamunger so we can share in all of those unseen moments!
Generally, September in Florida is hot and humid, with temperatures in the 80's and 90's and intermittent rain showers. This time of year, anything goes, so come prepared with a sweater AND umbrella!
You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible by RSVP'ing online so we can plan accordingly.
Unfortunately, the wedding ceremony will be held on the beach and our reception on brick and grass, making it difficult to navigate in a wheelchair. Please let us know prior if you'll require help when arriving to the wedding - we want you to be as comfortable as possible!
Yes and yes! Cocktail hour will include passed hors d'oeuvres, an oyster bar, and cocktails; the reception will be fully catered with several stations setup with fresh seafood and pig roast, salads, and other tasty sides. We will have an open bar stocked with wine, beer, and spirits from cocktail hour through the reception! After cake, coffee will be served. We're happy to accommodate special diets, so please contact us ahead of time.
Your presence during our wedding really is gift enough, but for those feeling especially generous we've created registries at Zola.com and with Bed, Bath, and Beyond (bedbathandbeyond.com).
Please contact us via our designated wedding email address - mungerwedding09122020@gmail.com - we want you to be as prepared as possible!
