We're getting Married!

By Tanya We met at University of Maryland via a common friend. We hung out a lot and became good friends during the course of two years in school. Nothing much ever happened back then though. I was busy with school maintaining my high GPA and Rahul was busy in his extracurricular activities. We got a lot closer when we got separated and were thousands of miles apart (2,289.5 miles to be precise). We talked more regularly, shared our current life affairs and reminisced about the time we spent together in school. Finally, a year and a half later, we met in Phoenix to celebrate the New Year. At that point we realized how much we missed each other and felt a deeper connection almost instantly. We thought about taking our friendship to another level and this is where it has finally led us... We have decided to spend the rest of our wonderful life together!

By Rahul We were in Cancun celebrating Tanya's Birthday earlier this year (2018). We went dancing on the beach for a Cabana night event which had a live band performing amazing songs. The night was beautiful with a million stars glaring in the sky and with the backdrop of the beach. We went for a stroll along the beach. When the moment finally felt perfect I bent my knee and asked Tanya if she would give me the pleasure of spending the rest of our lives together. She laughed (like a lot...) and sat down on the sand along with me. Then finally after composing herself she said "Propose to me again, this time I will try to be serious". I sure did and she said "Yes" with a lot of love and happiness in her eyes. To be honest, it was not the reaction I was expecting. But I am glad that it went down this way, since we are now for sure to remember and cherish this memory forever!
