You have a few easy options for getting to the zoo... Rideshare (Uber/Lyft): Enter Southern Boulevard Gate, Bronx, NY 10460 as your destination. Driving: Free parking will be available in Parking Lot C, located off Southern Boulevard at the Bronx Zoo. Shuttles: We will be providing complimentary shuttles to and from the zoo. Shuttles will arrive at 5:00 pm. The last shuttle will depart at 5:15 pm. Pickup and drop-off will be on 42nd St between 5th Ave and Madison Ave (near Grand Central). There will be someone there to direct you to the shuttle. All shuttles depart the zoo at 11:30 pm to return to the same pick up location. Guests are welcome to use the shuttle regardless of whether they are staying in a hotel block.
The celebration will begin with a traditional Hindu ceremony, followed by an American-style reception. After the ceremony, guests will enjoy cocktails, then dinner, and plenty of time to celebrate together.
Our wedding will be an Indian and Western formal celebration. Guests are invited to wear either traditional Indian attire or Western formal wear - both are equally welcome and encouraged. For Indian attire, this includes sarees, lehengas, sherwanis, or kurtas. For Western attire, formal dresses, suits, or tuxedos are perfect. We expect the crowd to be a combination of both styles, and the bride and groom will be wearing both throughout the night - starting in Indian attire and later changing into Western formal wear. Wear what makes you feel festive, comfortable, and ready to celebrate!
Our welcome drinks event will be smart casual—put together, but no need for cocktail or formal wear.
In many Indian cultures, white is traditionally associated with mourning, and red is reserved for the bride. We kindly ask guests to avoid solid white or red outfits. Otherwise, feel free to embrace color - we love vibrant, celebratory looks!
