জেতুকা (Jetuka)

The Jetuka ceremony is a pre-wedding ritual where henna is applied to the bride's hands and feet, symbolizing joy and good luck. It’s a festive event with music and dance, where friends and female family members can also get beautiful henna designs. Attire Suggestions for Jetuka: Yellow or bright ethnic wear, comfortable for both men and women (sarees, lehengas, kurtas).

জলছা (Jalsa)

5:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The Jalsa ceremony in an Assamese wedding is a vibrant and joyful pre-wedding celebration that is filled with music, dance, and cultural performances. Traditionally, the Jalsa is a time for both the bride's and groom's families to come together and celebrate through songs and dances, often reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Assam. Attire Suggestions: This will be an outdoor event at night, so please dress warmly. There is no specific theme.

জুৰুন (Juroon)

9:00 am - 1:30 pm

During Juroon, the bride is dressed in her ceremonial attire and receives blessings from the groom's family. Turmeric and other auspicious substances are applied to her, symbolizing purity and enhancing her beauty. This joyful occasion marks the bride’s preparation for the wedding and is celebrated with traditional Assamese rituals, music, and the loving presence of both families. Attire Suggestions: For women coming from outside Assam, the family will be providing a traditional saree(mekhela Sador) that you can wear over a light sweater. Casual wear for men.

বিয়া (Wedding)

4:30 pm

The main event features the traditional Barat, where the groom makes a grand entrance to the wedding venue with a warm welcome. This is followed by the bride's spectacular entry and the wedding rituals. The celebration continues with a lavish dinner, and the ceremony is set to last until around midnight. Attire Suggestions: This will be an outdoor event at night, so please dress warmly. There is no specific dress code, but women typically wear sarees or kurtas, and men usually opt for semi-formal attire.

National Park Tour

Kaziranga National Park
Kaziranga National Park, AS, India

No trip to Assam is complete without a visit to Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its one-horned rhinoceroses. The park is approximately a 2-hour drive from the wedding venue, so an early departure at 5.30 AM is necessary due to the park’s strict entry timings. After the safari, you'll explore the Orchid Park and enjoy a traditional Assamese lunch before heading back to prepare for the reception!

Reception

6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

The Assamese Wedding reception is all about eating and taking cool pictures with the Bride and the Groom ! Attire Suggestions: There is no dress code ! Wear what you like :)
