You might want to check if there are flights available to Foz do Iguaçu International Airport (Aeroporto Internacional de Foz do Iguaçu (IGU) - Cataratas). This is a little closer to Hohenau. The way from the Asuncion Airport to Hohenau is pretty long (about 8 hours) but it is a beautiful and easy ride with the Bus.
