Our Covid Protocol / What to Expect

Unfortunately we are not where we want to be when it comes to Covid-19. Right now we are encouraging every guest to be vaccinated and we are confident that the majority of people who are coming will be. We ask that anybody who is not vaccinated get tested 72 hours before the party. Mask wearing is cool. If wearing a mask makes you feel more comfortable, then wear a mask!
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We will need to know if you are a yay or a nay by 8/31/21.

Question

Dress Code?

Answer

Cocktail Attire. What Is Cocktail Attire? Brides.com gives this definition: Cocktail attire is a balance between formal and casual and elegant and comfortable. To an event with this dress code, such as a wedding, men typically wear a suit and tie while women wear a cocktail dress. Shoes that are safe on stone pathways and grass should be worn. There is a dance floor under the tent but everywhere else will be mostly grass.

Question

Hangry Are We?

Answer

The caterer will be a pizza rig that is on the property. Team Caterer will be asked to wear masks. We are planning a casual sit down dinner under the tent. Tables will be assigned. We will attempt to keep people in their own pods and people they are comfortable with for Covid reasons. Four different pizzas have been selected for the event (margherita, pepperoni, buffalo chicken, and butternut squash), served buffet style. Large salads will be shared at the tables. Cheese, veggies and fruits will be served beforehand. Food Allergies? No problem. We will make sure we reach out to every guest who has mentioned their allergy/intolerance and make sure they are comfortable with what is served. Which means if we haven't reached out to you by 9/20, please text bride or groom to make sure we have you on our list!

Question

Thirsty?

Answer

Yes, it is an open bar. Nonalcoholic bevvies will also be available.

Question

Are We There Yet? How to get there, parking, transportation

Answer

For our Maine crew. We are sorry you have to travel so far in a car. But know that it means the world to us that you are COMING! We encourage you make a weekend of it! With that said we hope you are staying in one of our room blocks at The Hilton in Norwalk CT or the Marriott right down the street (Check the Travel tab for the details). There is a school bus shuttle that will depart the Marriot at 3:15pm , pickup at the Hilton and depart by 3:20pm SHARP! to make it to the venue by the start of the ceremony at 4pm. Following the ceremony, the same bus will return guests to both hotels with one trip leaving at 9:30pm and the final trip of the evening leaving at 11pm. For those planning to drive to the venue (114 Charter Oak Drive), the house is on a cul-de-sac with ample parking at the top of the driveway and a short walk down to the house. We ask that you avoid parking in the driveway to allow for the free movement of the catering team.

Question

BUT WHAT IF IT RAINS?

Answer

It will not be raining, but in this hypothetical scenario the whopping 40x80 tent in the backyard will be tasked with hosting all aspects of the event. That includes the ceremony, the cocktail hour, the pizza eating, and the dancing. And while there is a dancefloor under the tent, we must again emphasize proper shoe selection is critical to your enjoyment.
